Avis Inez Wellman Carruth For 71 years, she was the prime example of unconditional love. Her life was spent in service to others. She asked for little, yet gave her all, and left a legacy of love and influence that will live on even though she is gone. Avis Inez Wellman Carruth was born on July 31, 1932, and passed away on Feb. 13, 2004, in the Rapides Regional Medical Center in Alexandria. She is preceded in death by two sisters, Coral Poe and Effie Franklin, and one brother, Bertie Wellman. She leaves behind her loving family, husband of 55 years, Samuel Carruth of Leesville; daughters, Annette Ensley and husband, Mark, and Peggy Berry and husband, Randy, all of Leesville; son, Daniel Carruth, and wife, Joelle, of Rosepine; grandchildren, Clay Kinchen, Chris Berry, Scott Kinchen, Julie Hillman, Sarah Mount and Amanda Carruth; five great-grandchildren; sisters, Laurel Monk of LaCamp, Myrtie Welch of Leesville and Bernice Lukasik of Hicks; and brothers, Riley Wellman and Morgan Wellman, both of LaCamp, Herman Wellman of Hineston, Wayford Wellman and L.E. Wellman, both of Kirbyville, Texas. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 16, 2004, in the LaCamp Church of God. The Revs. Shawn Waggoner and Millard Monk will officiate. Interment will follow in the church cemetery under the direction of the Hixson Funeral Home of Leesville. Pallbearers will be Clay Kinchen, Scott Kinchen, Shannon Mount, Bill Holton, Ron Roy and Don Grant. Visitation will be from from noon to 9 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 15, and from 10 a.m. until time of service Monday in the church. (Parent links were provided by LadyDi_60)
