Columbus (Nebraska) Telegram Obituary Sep 1954 Dies in New York Relatives here have received word that John R. Savage of New York City, formerly of Columbus, died Monday. Mr. Savage, a World War I veteran, was the brother of Mrs. John Briggs of Columbus. Funeral services will be held in New York. Services held--Funeral services for John R. Savage, son of the late Mrs. Mary E. Savage, were held Thursday at St. Agnes church in New York City, followed by military graveside rites at Long Island National cemetery, Farmingdale, N. Y. Mr. Savage, a staff artist for the New York Daily Mirror, died last Monday at Roosevelt hospital in New York City. ~~~~ Married Marian Flanagan on March 21, 1925 in Manhattan, New York.
