She was baptized as Ann Rosalia but also used Ann Barbara. Church records from St. Michael's Catholic Church, Tarnov, Nebraska SZAWICA, Annam Rosatiam Born: February 3, 1894 Baptized: February 4, 1894 Parents: Josepho Szawica & Mariann Siemek Godparents: Josephus Korus & Marianna Szawica ============================ Columbus (Nebraska) Daily Telegram August 3, 1970 Word has been received here of the death of Ann Savage Hooven, 77, a former Tarnov resident, who died July 28 at Morristown Memorial Hospital in Morristown, N.J., where she had been a patient for several months. Born Feb. 6, 1893 in Tarnov, she was buried in Chatham, where she had resided for many years. Survivors include a step-son, Alva Hooven of Los Angeles, Calif., a sister, Mrs. L. K. Vanderheiden of Grand Island, and two brothers, Stanley of Boulder Creek, Calif., and Edward of Ben Lomand, Calif. She was preceded in death by her husband, Merrill.
