(Falls City Journal ~ October 27, 1988): William H. Jones, 79, 2522 Schoenheit, Falls City, passed away Wednesday morning, Oct. 26, 1988, at the Ottumwa Regional Health Center in Ottumwa, IA, which he had entered on Oct. 14. Mr. Jones was born on Feb. 7, 1909, at Rulo, to the late Dallas Charles Jones and Elizabeth (Bean) Jones. He was united in marriage to Mabel Jones on Dec. 28, 1929 at Falls City. They established their home here when married and have lived here since. Mr. Jones was employed with the Missouri Pacific Railroad and was retired. He was a member of the Falls City Masonic Lodge No. 9, the United Transportation Union No. 74 and a member of the First Christian Church in Falls City. Surviving him besides his wife, Mabel of the home, are: one son, Loy Jones, Ottumwa; two grandchildren, Steve Jones, Wichita, KS and Sheryl Bennett, Tecumseh; four sisters: Sarah McVay, Auburn; Vesta Spears, Lincoln; Emily Bessler, Omaha and Lucille Criger of Nebraska City; and one brother, Theodore Jones, Auburn. He was preceded in death by a son in infancy. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in the chapel of the Clark Funeral Home with the Rev. Darryl Godinez officiating. Masonic graveside services will be conducted by the Falls City Lodge No. 9, A.F. & A.M. Interment will be in the Sheriden Cemetery at Auburn.
