Bio

Vesta M. Spears, 96, of Lincoln, passed away Friday, Dec. 13, 2013. She was born Jan. 12, 1917 in Crete to Dallas and Elizabeth Jones. Vesta was an avid bowler and she also liked to embroider. Past member of the Eagles Post 147. Survivors include: Daughters, Velma Cruse and Pamela Marshall; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; sister, Lucile Criger. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charnock; nine brothers and sisters; grandson, Chad Watts. A funeral service will be held at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2013, at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home, 6800 S. 14th St., Lincoln. Visitation: 5-7 pm. Tuesday, Dec. 17, at the funeral home.
