Joe A. Fridel Buried Near Elk Joe A. Fridel, 78, of Bellmead, a native of Elk, died Saturday morning in a local hospital. Services were held at 3 p.m. Monday at Kotch Funeral Home Chapel, the Rev. George Tzankas officiating. Burial was in Pavelka Cemetery near Elk. Rosary was recited at 7 p.m. in Kotch Funeral Home Chapel. Mr. Fridel had lived in Bellmead since 1940. He was a retired farmer. He had worked for the Katy Railroad until 16 years ago. He was a Catholic. Survivors include his wife, Ella Fridel; a son, Emil J. Fridel of West; a daughter, Mrs. Don (Mildred) Scruggs of Columbus, Ohio; three sisters, Mr. R. L. (Edna) Terrell of 4424 Harrison, Mrs. Porter (Ruby) Webb of 4522 Harrison and Mrs. E. E. (Albina) Dickerson of West; four granddaughters; and one great-grandson. Pallbearers were Ivan J. Pechacek, Truman Middleton, Marion Wade Webb, Raymond B. Pavelka, Donny Ray Mladenka and Billy Webb.
