Funeral services for Mary E. Havranek, age 99 of Bloomfield will be held 10:30 A.M. Saturday, April 9, 2011 at St. Andrew's Catholic Church in Bloomfield. Reverend Mike Schmitz will be the celebrant with burial in the Bloomfield City Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. at St. Andrew's Catholic Church in Bloomfield with a Wake Service at 7:00 P.M. Brockhaus Funeral Home of Bloomfield is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Havranek died, Thursday, April 7, 2011 at Bloomfield Good Samaritan Society. Mary Ellen (Dvorak) Havranek, daughter of John and Barbara (Kodela) Dvorak, was born on October 16, 1911 at Atkinson, Nebraska in the family home. She attended Atkinson Public High School. On April 15, 1937, she married Albert A. Havranek at St. Joseph Catholic Church at Atkinson, Nebraska. One daughter was born to them, Ellen Marie (Havranek) Fehringer. Albert and Mary lived in Atkinson, Nebraska until they moved to Bloomfield, Nebraska in 1970. Mary taught school around Atkinson. She was a member of St. Andrew's Catholic Church and also a member of Altar Society, Catholic Daughters, Sandy Creek Improvement Club, Victory Homemaker Extension Club and a 4-H Leader. Mary worked on the election board and taught catechism in Emmet, Nebraska for many years. She is survived by her daughter, Ellen and husband Mark Fehringer of Bloomfield, NE; nine grandchildren, Rock and Susan Fehringer and their children, Jessica Fehringer, Jennifer and husband Chad Julich, Anthony and wife Meagan Fehringer and Zach Fehringer, Scott and wife Gina Fehringer and their children, Blake, Mattie, Trey and Eva, Michelle and husband Dan Fink and their children, Brady and Brock, Julie and husband Chris Lowe, Lisa Rider and her children, Tyler Fehringer and Cameron Rider, Diane Fehringer, Carla and husband Roger Enyart and their children, Easton and Kendall, Jeff and wife Kelli Fehringer and their children, Luke and Will, and Vicki Fehringer; great great grandchildren, Christian Julich and Bailee Julich; sister, Helen (Dvorak) Clifford of Atkinson, NE; three sister-in-laws, Helen Marie Dvorak, Blanche Havranek and Willia Havranek; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Al Havranek; one grandchild; parents; four brothers; and one sister.
