From the Allison Tribune December 17, 1992 JURENE H. HEEREN Jurene H. Heeren, 88, of Hampton, died Sunday, December 13, 1992, at Chautauqua Nursing Home in Charles City where she had been a resident for several years. Jurene was born November 3, 1904, in Butler County the daughter of Heiko and Cassie Gerjerts Leerhoff. She received her education in Butler County schools. She was united in marriage to John Heeren on May 10, 1925 in Dumont, Iowa. To this union was born two sons, Dale and Don. John died in 1936. Jurene lived and worked in Hampton at Ferris Nursery and then as a clerk in the Harrison's Variety Store for many years until she was 80 years old. She was a member of Rosella #177 Rebekah Lodge and the Congregational Church in Hampton. She is survived by her sons, Dale and his wife Cheri of Sedalia, Missouri and Don and his wife Mary Ann of Charles City; three grandchildren , Cindy Klatt, Sue Gardner and Dan Heeren; four step-grandchildren; four great grandchildren and one step-great grandchild; a half brother, Galen Leerhoff of Placentia, California; a half sister, Donna Dolgner of Janesville, Wisconsin; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, John; a brother, Irving Leerhoff and a sister Bernice Van Allen; and one daughter-in-law, Joyce Heeren. Funeral services were held Tuesday, December 15 at 10:30 at Sietsema - Vogel Funeral Home, Hampton, Iowa with burial in the Allison Cemetery. Rev. Dennis Eastin officiated at the service. Casketbearers were Dan Heeren, Dick Holze, Robert Grefe, Paul Leerhoff, Gaylen Sackville, and Bud Williams. Honorary casketbearers were Dale Klatt, Reich Gardner and Jim Rhodes.. Sietsema - Vogel Funeral Homes, Hampton was in charge of arrangements.
