JOHN HEEREN FUNERAL HELD LAST SATURDAY Funeral services for John Heeren, 38, of Mason City, who died at his home last Wednesday morning following an illness of ten days consisting of heart trouble, were held at the Congregational Church in Mason City Saturday afternoon at one o'clock. The Rev. Alexander S. Carlson, pastor of the church was in charge. Burial was made in Allison Cemetery. John Heeren was born February 18, 1898, near Dumont, Iowa. His boyhood and a great deal of his manhood was spent around Dumont and Allison. He was married May 10, 1925 to Jurene Leerhoff of Allison. To this union were born two sons, Dale Robert and Donald John. For the past seven years Mr. Heeren was employed by the state highway commission. He was a member of the Congregational Church of Mason City and taught a Sunday school class in the church. Surviving him are his wife and two sons, Dale Robert, 8, and Donald John, 5, and eight sisters Mrs. Waird Folkerts of Allison, Mrs. BG Walsh, of Hampton, Mrs. Frank Clemens, Mrs. C. Fisher and Mrs. Paul Van Hyfte, all of Dumont, Mrs. C.O. Turston, of Sheffield, Mrs. Ernest Scheffler of Barnsville, Minn., and Mrs. Ben Sheppard, Comstock, Nebr., and one brother George Thomas Heeren of Dumont. Mr. Heeren was preceded in death by his parents. FORMER HAMPTON MAN DIES Funeral services for John Heeren, former Hampton resident, who died at his home in Mason City, a week ago Wednesday, after a years illness from heart trouble, were held at the Congregational Church in Mason City last Saturday, and Rev. A. S. Carlson, pastor of the church had charge of the services. Burial was made in Allison Cemetery. Mr. Heeren, born at Dumont in 1898, lived in Hampton for a number of years. He was married to Miss Jurene Leerhoff, of Allison, in 1925, and the couple made their home in Hampton, where he was employed as a mechanic for Franklin county. For the past seven years he has been employed by the State Highway Commission at Mason City. Surviving the deceased are his widow and two sons, Dale Heeren, and Donald Heeren, eight sisters, Mrs. Frank Clemens, Mrs. C. Fisher and Mrs. Paul VanHyfte of Dumont, Mrs. Earnest Schaffler , of Barnesville, Minnesota, Mrs. Wiard Folkerts, of Allison, Mrs. G.G. Walsh of Hampton, Mrs. C.O. Thurston of Sheffield, and Mrs. Ben Shepperd, of Comstock, Nebraska, and one brother, George Thomas Heeren of Dumont.
