Bio
Mr. Redden died Saturday, April 2, 2011 at 2:14 am at his residence in Pride. He was 89. He was retired from Copolymer with 25 years of service. Visiting will be at Charlet Funeral Home, Inc., Zachary on Tuesday April 5, 2011 from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm. Visiting will continue on Wednesday at the funeral home from 9:00 am until service time at 11:00 am conducted by Rev. Kevin Hand. Burial will be at Sandy Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. He is survived by three daughters, Gloria Long and husband Eddie of Walker, Joyce Wheat and husband Roger of Pride, Paula Yelverton of Baton Rouge and two sons, Jerry Redden and wife Mary Lee of Central and Robert Redden and wife Jennifer of Osayka, MS and a niece and nephew whom were reared as his children, Johnny Spurgeon of Zachary and Helen Zuck of Central. He is also survived by five grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Grace Chemin Redden, Parents, Willie and Mattie Arnold Redden, grandson, Richard Lee Redden, ten brothers and sisters and nephew, Jimmy Lee Spurgeon. Pallbearers will be Logan Bankston, Cody Abbott and members of Chrisitan Motorcycle Association chapter 369. He was a member of Sandy Creek Baptist Church and a former member and sunday school teacher at Zoar Baptist Church, Central.
