Harvey Elbert "Ebb" Burnett, 77, died at 8:00am on October 29, 1964 at Lake Charles Memorial Hospital. The body has been taken to the residence in Ragley. It will be taken to Perkins Street Pentecostal Church in DeQuincy at 9:00am on Friday. Funeral services will be at 2:00pm Friday at the church. The Rev. H. L. Bennett will officiate. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery in Ragley with Hixson Funeral Home of Lake Charles in charge. Mr. Burnett was a retired rancher and farmer. He was a longtime resident of Ragley and a member of the Perkins Street Pentecostal Church. Ebb was the son of James Jefferson Burnett and Leona Mae Hagar Williams Burnett. He married Maude Rena Hodges on 19 October 1913 in Ragley, Beauregard Pa, LA. Maude and Ebb were the parents of seven children, all born in Ragley. Survivors included his wife: Maude Rena Hodges Burnett of Ragley; two sons: James and Raymond Burnett, Lake Charles; four daughters: Opal (Mrs. John L. Kelton, Jr.), San Antonio, TX, Jewel (Mrs. Albert B. Harper), Laredo, TX, Ruby (Mrs. Charles Keip), Brazoria, TX, and Mabel (Mrs. John Searcy), Texas City, TX; two brothers: Leo Burnett, Ragley, and Will Burnett, Oakdale; three sisters: Bessie (Mrs. Samuel Hodges), Beulah (Mrs. Frank Hodges), and Dora (Mrs. Anderson Andrus), all of Ragley; and 13 grandchildren: James Dennis "Jimmy" Burnett, Mauda O'Lene Kelton, Karen Raye Kelton, Albert Buckner "Beto" Harper, David Crockett Harper, Paloma Blanca "Susie" Harper, Karl Henry Keip, Deborah Kay Searcy, John Riley Searcy, Brenda Jean Searcy, Mary Elizabeth Burnett, Carol Ann Burnett, and Daniel Raymond Burnett.
