Bio

James Jefferson "Jeff" Burnett, Jr. was the son of Leona Mae Hagar and James Jefferson Burnett, Sr. He married Mary Ann Reeves, daughter of Isaac Solomon Reeves and Mary Ellen Roberts, about 1915 in Louisiana. Jeff and Mary Ann were the parents of James Richard Burnett, Dorothy Leona Burnett (Fenzl), and Jessie Ruth Burnett. In 1933, the family moved to Texas where Jeff obtained a job working at a sawmill. Jeff and Mary Ann later divorced in Trinity County, TX. He subsequently married Lizzie Mae Unknown. On October 16, 1939, Jeff had an accident at the sawmill where he worked. The right side of his skull was fractured. He succumbed to renal failure about a week after the accident. He was buried in Magnolia Cemetery in Ragley, Beauregard Pa, LA.
