Source: Daily Ardmoreite Born May 31, 1933, to Wilson Mitchell and Lora Hudson Mitchell in Big Canyon, Okla., he died Aug. 12, 2004, in a local hospital. He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, April Lee and a sister, Louise Smith. He married Barbara Campbell on Dec. 9, 1996, in Gainesville, Texas. He had lived in the Ardmore area all of his life and was a water plant operator for the City of Ardmore. He loved to play softball, golf and to fish. Survivors include his wife, Barbara Mitchell of the home; son, David Mitchell, Henryetta; daughter, Paulette Brightwell, Ratliff City; brothers, Dwayne Darter, Alvarado, Texas, Arthur Mitchell, Overbrook, Chesley Mitchell, Ardmore, Donald Mitchell, Bonita Beach, Fla.; sisters, Carole Deatherage, Ardmore and Uealene Nelson, Hot Springs, Ark. and six grandchildren. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
