Bio

Wellington Leader December 6, 1979 Mrs. Frank Light died about 8 a.m. Saturday, December 1 in the Groom Hospital, where she was admitted the preceding day. Her unexpected death came as a shock to the community. Mrs. Light was 73. She had lived in the county since 1919. For a number of years, she lived in the Aberdeen community, then the late Mr. Light, a prominent farmer, expanded his operations to Wellington, and they made their home west of town. Later, they moved into Wellington. The former Lorena Pearl Martindale, she was born September 17, 1906 in Somervell County, the daughter of the late H.B. and Elizabeth Wood Martindale. She and Mr. Light were married December 22, 1923 in the Aberdeen community. He died December 19, 1968. She had been an active member of the Methodist Church since early in life. Survivors are three daughters, Mrs. Wayne (Jean) Cudd of Wellington, Mrs. Noel (Wynona) Cudd of Albuquerque, NM and Mrs. Glenn (Jimmie) McConnell of Pampa; two sisters, Mrs. Jack Hiett of Shamrock and Mrs. Bernice Jewell of Brownfield; four brothers, Irvin Martindale of McLean, Bill Martindale of Sonoma, CA, Bart Martindale and Buck Martindale of Shamrock. There are four grandchildren and 5 great-grandsons.
