Bio

Funeral services for Stanley Pokorski, 75, of Ashton were held Monday, at 10 a.m. at Mt. Carmel Catholic Church at Paplin with the Rev. Milan Kopushar officiating. Mr. Pokorski died Thursday, July 3, 1975, at a Loup City hospital. Burial was in the Paplin Cemetery. Visitation hours were at the Steele-Pospisil Funeral Home Sunday in Loup City, with a rosary recited at 8:30 p.m. Mr. Pokorski was born Feb. 8, 1900, in Howard County, the son of Joseph and Joanna Jankowski Pokorski. He attended school at Paplin and farmed near Ashton before moving into Ashton ten years ago. On November 14, 1922, he married Pauline Kosmicki at Paplin. Survivors include his wife; four daughters, Mrs. Jake (Irene) Beasley and Mrs. Ron (Joan) Cassity, both of Waukegan, Ill., Mrs. Alvin (Edean) Gembala of Wood River and Mrs. Dale (Elaine) Nowak of St. Paul; three sons, LaVern of Tempe, Ariz., Delphie of Grand Island and Patrick of Ashton; one sister, Mrs. Cashmier Krajewski of Ogallala; four brothers, Leo of North Platte, John of Elba, Dennis of Norfolk and Ralph of Ashton; 18 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
