PRESCOTT, Ariz. — Del R. Pokorski, 93, of Prescott, Ariz., departed his earthly journey on Sunday, Oct. 28, 2018, at Highgate Senior Living in Prescott, Ariz., due to Alzheimer’s disease. Services will be on Nov. 9 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Prescott. The rosary will be recited at 10:30 a.m. and Mass at 11. Burial will be held at Prescott’s National Cemetery. Del was born on March 2, 1925, and raised on a farm near Ashton, and attended Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Paplin. Del was a World War II veteran and a recipient of the Purple Heart award. He lived in Grand Island 30 years, attended St. Mary’s Cathedral and owned a trucking company. He moved to Arizona in 1980 and was employed by Salt River Project. He retired in 1987 and moved in 1994 to Prescott Valley, where he spent his later years. He was a member of St. Germaine’s Catholic Church in Prescott Valley, Ariz. Del was a kind and gentle soul who loved the Lord and his family, and enjoyed sports, the outdoors, polka music and dancing. Del was married 69 years and is survived by his wife, Mary (Kuszak); a son, Ken; daughters, Gwen (Curtis) Redemer and Debbie Frasier; as well as his grandson, Kyle Frasier. Other survivors include sisters Irene Beasley and Elaine Nowak. He was preceded in death by his parents, Stanley and Pauline Pokorski; sisters, Joan Cassity and Edean Gembala; and brothers, Laverne and Pat Pokorski.
