Bio

Annie M. Schroeder, age 72 of Leroy, passed away Monday morning, October 25, 1993 in a Waco hospital. Rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Tuesday in St. Mary’s Catholic Church of the Assumption in West. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday in St. Mary’s Catholic Church of the Assumption in West, with Rev. Ed Karasek as celebrant. Burial followed in St. Martin’s Cemetery in Tours. Mrs. Schroeder was born January 19, 1921 in Westphalia and lived in the Tours-Leroy area since 1935. She was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church of the Assumption in West, the S.P.J.S.T. Lodge No. 6 of Cottonwood, the L.T.G. Volunteer Fire Department and Geneva Hall. Mrs. Schroeder was the daughter of John and Clara Straten Roessler. She married Frank Schroeder, August 15, 1942. She is preceded in death by an infant son who died February 12, 1957. Mrs. Schroeder is survived by her husband, Frank Schroeder of Leroy; four daughters, Mrs. Bobby (Cecilia) Soukup of Asa, Mrs. Charles (Mary Jane) Icke of San Antonio, Mrs. Larry (Nancy) Kallus of Leroy and Mrs. Ernie (Dianne) Reed of Hallsburg; three brothers, Henry Roessler and Johnny Roessler, both of Tours and Herman Roessler of Waco; two sisters, Mary Podsednik of Ft. Worth and Mrs. Odelle (Ann) Gerik of Temple; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Jodie Schroeder, Jr., Herman E. Roessler, Stephen Roessler, Lawrence Machac, August John Podsednik, David Roessler and Dennis Gerik. Kotch Funeral Home in West was in charge of arrangements.
