Bio

John E. Johnson, 58, of 1651 Coes Ln., New Albany, died on Friday (5 Feb) at his home. He was a native of Alton, Ind., an employee of General Electric Co. and a World War II veteran. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge 340, VFW Post 1693, Eagles Lodge and Redmen Lodge 276. Survivors are his wife, the former Nancy Cole; two daughters Sandra K. Logsdon and Alvenia S. Litz, both of Louisville; a son, William L. Brooks of New Albany; three brothers, James Johnson of Leavenworth, Clifford Johnson of Depauw and Joseph Johnson of New Albany; three sisters, Mrs. Naomi Bernardi of Floyds Knobs, Ind., Imogene Thompson of Louisville, and Pearl Bates of New Albany; five grandchildren. The funeral was held at Kraft Funeral Home, New Albany, on Monday (8 Feb) with burial in Graceland Cemetery.
