Bio

Funeral services for Alice Pearl Johnson Bates, 86, of New Albany, will be at noon Monday, at Kraft Funeral Services, Spring Street Chapel, with burial in Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park. She died Friday, Oct. 30, 2008, at University Hospital, Louisville. She was the widow of Homer Bates and was a loving mother and grandmother. She retired from the old Indiana Bell Telephone Company, New Albany, and was a member of Telephone Pioneers and Colgate Baptist Church. Survivors include a daughter, Barbara Dunn, Clarksville; grandchildren, Jennifer Dunn and Chris Dunn and wife, Barbara; great-grandchildren, Cullen and Nicholas; and a brother, James H. Johnson, Leavenworth. Visitation at the funeral home will be from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday.
