Obit; CHARLES JOHNSONCharles Clifford Johnson, 75, Depauw, died Sunday at Harrison County Hospital. He was a native of Alton, born Nov. 17, 1918, the son of the late John and Bessie Kemp Johnson. He was an Army veteran of World War II, a retired machinist of the Old International Harvester Co. in Louisville, and a member of the Crandall Untied Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Dorothy F. Calvert; and a infant daughter, Lisa Kay Johnson. Survivor include two sons, Richard and Eddie Johnson, both of Depauw; two daughters, Carolyn F. Backherms of Corydon and Rita S. Noble of Depauw; a brother, James Johnson of Leavenworth; three sisters, Imogene Thompson of Louisville, Naomi Bernardi of Floyds Knobs and Pearl Bates of New Albany; and six grandchildren. Visitation will be today (Wednesday) after 10 A. M. at Swarens Funeral Home in Ramsey. The funeral will be today at 1 P. M. at the funeral home with burial in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery in Leavenworth. - Mark Kemp
