Robert Preston, the son of John Sylvester Preston and Nancy Frances Houchin, was born in 1870 in Grayson County, Kentucky. His maternal grandparents were John Decatur Houchin and Mahulda Lindsey. He died at the age of 20 years, 3 months and 5 days on September 23, 1898. He was buried in the Wilson Cemetery in Ready, Grayson County, Kentucky. His parents were later buried in this cemetery.
