Bio

Hulda J. Preston Sirles, the daughter of John Sylvestor Preston and Nancy Frances Houchin, was born in 1876 in Grayson County, Kentucky. At the time of the 1880 Census of Caneyville, Grayson County, Kentucky the John S. Preston family consisted of: John S., a farmer, age 36; his wife Nancy F., a house keeper, age 30; and their children: William R., a laborer, age 14; Valuntine, a laborer, age 12; Woodford M., a laborer, age 10; Samuel O., age 8; John H., age 6; Huldah J., age 4; and Robert, age 2. All were born in Kentucky with their parents born in Kentucky. Hulda J. Preston was the wife of Jesse G. Sirles, the son of Wm. P. Sirles and Manurva Elizabeth Ward. He was born on May 31, 1875 in Kentucky. Jesse died on October 3, 1949. He was buried in the Wilson Cemetery in Ready, Grayson County, Kentucky. Hulda J. Sirles joined him there after her death in 1954.
