Jan. 18, 1979 Pg. 6 Charlie Parks, 75, of the Novice community died at a local hospital Friday, January 12, 1979. Funeral services were held Monday, January 15, in the Fry and Gibbs Funeral Home Chapel, with burial in Knights of Honor Cemetery in Blossom. The Rev. Hubert Redus officiated. Mr. Parks was born July 2, 1903, in Lamar County, son of William and Winnie Dabbs Parks. On October 27, 1923, he married Pearl Ferguson. He was a farmer and rancher. Survivors include his wife; one daughter, Mrs. Jack Fryar of Liberal, Kansas; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Johnny Mantooth and Mrs. R. D. Bryan both of Paris; and four brothers, Harry Parks and Howard Parks, both of Oklahoma City; Hubert Parks and Gus Parks, both of Paris. Pallbearers were Edwin Daughtrey, Gordon Howard, Ralph Jones, Norris Fodge, Jack Risinger, and James Price. 2-8-21 Info. His sibling was a baby girl (I believe her name was Charlene - from family history) that lived less than a week. No info on grave location, but likely in/near Blossom, Texas where the family lived.
