Parks, Thomas H. 225757 Birth: 12/08/1905 Death: 04/29/2001 Marriage: 12/19/1926 Cemetery: Meadowbrook THE PARIS NEWS, Monday, April 30, 2001: ’Thomas H. ‘Bear’ Parks, 95, of Paris died at 4:34 a.m. Sunday, April 29, 2001, at McCuistion Regional Medical Center. Fry and Gibbs Funeral Home will conduct graveside services at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 1, at Meadowbrook Cemetery with the Rev. Jerry Moore officiating. The family will be at the home of Stanton and Juanell Ramsey on FM 2648 in Powderly Monday evening. Mr. Parks was born Dec. 8, 1905, in Lamar County to William and Winifred Dabbs Parks. He married Dorothy Bell Sanders Dec. 19, 1926, in the Slate Shoals community. Mr. Parks was a farmer and rancher in Lamar County for most of his adult life. Surviving are his wife of 75 years, Dorothy; three children, Hubert Parks and wife Jewell of Irving, Billie Blaylock and husband Ronald of Paris, and Juanell Ramsey and husband Stanton of Powderly; three grandchildren, Kim McClusky and husband Mike of Houston, Regenia Geyer and husband Mike, and Larry Parks and wife Linda, all of Irving; three great-grandchildren, Reid McClusky of Houston, Preston Geyer of Irving and Mathew Parks of San Jose, Calif.; two great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Gus Parks and one sister, Pauline Bryan, both of Paris. He was preceded in death by several brothers, one sister, and one grandson, Steve Blaylock, in 1991. Honorary pallbearers will be Rebel Brannan, Bobby McMonigle Benton Moss, Jim Shotemate, Buddy Michael, and James Sharrock.
