Bio

Marguriete M. Brong, 84, of Oswego, went to be with the lord on Monday, April 1, 2002 after a long illness. She was born February 10, 1918 in Valentine, Nebraska, the daughter of the late Hershel and Etta (Crist) Sherbeck. Mrs. Brong was a longtime resident of Ankeny, Iowa before moving to Oswego, IL area in 1995. Marguriete served her Lord as an excellent wife and companion with her husband, Donald, during his Baptist Ministry in Iowa. Survivors include her husband of 61 years, Donald M. Brong of Oswego; one daughter, Martha (Ron) Mick of Oswego; one sister, Bernice Armstrong of Arcadia, Nebraska; five grandchildren, Stephanie (Joel) Ilseman of Aurora, Andrea (Mike) Mann of Oswego, Spc. Jason Mick of Germany, Sgt. Timothy Westphal of Germany and Talea (Brian) Magnuson of California and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Mary Westphal; three sisters and two brothers. A visitation will be held for Mrs. Brong on Wednesday, April 3, 2002 from 5:00 - 8:00 PM at Dieterle Memorial Home, Montgomery. Services will be on Thursday, April 4, 2002 11:00 AM at Harvest Baptist church, 5315 Douglas Rd., Oswego, where friends may visit at the church form 10:00 AM until time of services. Pastor Scott Poling and Pastor Norman Hoag will officiate. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Montgomery. Memorial gifts may be made to Faith Baptist Bible College and Seminary, 1900 N.W.
