Obituary for Donald Brong: Donald Myron Brong, age 96, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 24, 2015 at Joliet Area Community Hospice Home. Donald is preceded in death by his mother and father, Byron and Lillie Brong; brothers, Aaron (the late Jean), Ervin (the late Dessie) and Byron (the late Teddi) Brong; sisters Esther (Keith) Mills and Winifred Currie; wife, Marguriete Brong; daughter, Mary (the late John) Westphal. He is survived by his loving wife Nancy Brong of Plainfield, IL; daughter Martha (Ron) Mick of Oswego, IL; stepsons, Dan (Jane) Pierson of Lakeville, MN, Doug (Val) Pierson of Yorkville, IL and Rollie (Christina) Pierson of Kuttawa, KY; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. Pastor Brong served in the ministry for over 50 years and served as Pastor of the First Baptist Church, Russell, IA and First Baptist Church, Monroe, IA. Later he served as State Representative and Camp Director of the Iowa Association of Regular Baptist Churches. Visitation will be held on Monday, December 28, 2015 from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Dieterle Memorial Home (1120 S. Broadway, Montgonery, IL 60538). ... Funeral Service will be on Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at 11:00 am with visitation one hour prior to the start of service at Harvest New Beginnings Church (5315 Douglas Rd, Oswego, IL 60543), with interment to follow at Riverside Cemetery in Monrgomery, IL.
