The Belle Plaine Union, Thursday, March 6th, 1947 page 1 James P. Pavlicek who had been in ill health for about three years, nice thing about living in died suddenly of a heart attack at his home in Belle Plaine at 1:15 p.m. Wednesday, February 26, 1947. Funeral services were conducted from Peffers funeral home at 2 p.m. Saturday, with the Rev. W. G. Warren of Christ Methodist church officiating. Burial was in the National cemetery a t Vining. A native of Bohemia, Mr. Pavlicek was born February 9, 1873. He was 14 years old when he came to America and most of his life here was spent on a farm. He was married in 1900 to Anna M. Novak, and four years later they move d to South Dakota where they farmed for many years, retiring three years ago because of his ill health They moved to Iowa last fall. Surviving besides his wife are three daughters and one son Mrs. John Kapucian, Keystone; Mrs. Loren Manley, Cedar Rapids; Blanche Pavlicek, Washington, D. C ; and John Pavlicek, Shasta, California. Another daughter died in infancy, and a son died at the age of 22 years. Other survivors include three grandsons, a brother, John Pavlicek of Ritchie , Montana, and four sisters Mrs. Bertha Kvidera , Fergus Falls, Minnesota, Mrs. Francis Zmolek, and Mrs. Louis Podhajsky, Clutier; and Mrs. James Bend a of Toledo.
