Martha M. Root, 81, of Perkins Pavilion, died Friday, November 5, 2004 at Perkins Pavilion. Martha was born April 22, 1923 in Eddyville, Nebraska to Mike G. & Eva M. (Warner) Barta. Martha moved to the Hastings area in 1949. She married Fay V. Root on April 1, 1951 and he preceded her in death. She was a nurses aide in Arnold, Harvard and Sutton, Nebraska in geriatrics. She was a member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary in Harvard, Nebraska. Martha was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Fay, three brothers, George, Edward and Chester Barta. Survivors include family and friends.
