LEXINGTON - Edward Daniel Barta, Sr., 76, of Lexington died Sunday, Jan. 11, 2004, at the Plum Creek Care Center in Lexington. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Calvary Assembly of God Church in Lexington with the Rev. Joe Masten and Calvin Barta officiating Burial will be at Robb Cemetery in Lexington. Visitation will be until 8 p.m. today at the Reynolds-Love Chapel in Lexington. He was born Jan. 25, 1927, in Overton to Mike and Eva Marie (Warner) Barta. On Aug. 30, 1948, he married Charlene Overton in Kansas City, Mo. Survivors include his wife; sons, Edward Jr. and David, both of Schuyler, Calvin of Palestine, Texas, and Pat of Jacksonville, Texas; daughters, Elizabeth Barta-Thomas of Omaha and Patty Barta-Boeckman of Lexington; brothers, Fritz of Oregon, Donald, Harmon and Lloyd, all of Lexington, and Frank of Cozad; sisters, Edna Dewey of Lexington, Martha Root of Harvard, Leora Esslinger of Sterling, Colo., Mildred Shuda of Hastings and Dorothy Linder of Cozad; 12 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren
