Bio

Wellington Leader October 13, 1977 John Maxwell, 73, of San Jose, CA, died October 3, after an extended illness. He was a retired landscaper for the Lindsey Landscaping Company. He had lived in San Jose for the last 30 years. He formerly lived at Wellington. Mr. Maxwell was born October 5, 1904 at Sulphur, OK. Survivors are four sons: Kenneth and Freddy of Wellington, Dean of Childress and John Everitt of San Jose, CA; four daughters, Mrs. Helen Fires of Wellington, Mrs. Anita Baker of Ft. Worth, Mrs. Joyce Dishroom of Miami, TX and Mrs. Glennis Shields of Stinnett; his mother, Mrs. Edna Berry Maxwell of Wellington; two brothers, Ernest of Wellington and Ray of Amarillo; three sisters, Mrs. Bessie Cook of Lufkin, Mrs. Sudie Wright of Amarillo, and Mrs. Tula Bolton of Mangum, OK; 20 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
