Fred Maxwell, 55, died Saturday, January 19, 1991 in Wellington. Mr. Maxwell was born at Allison January 5, 1936. He was the son of the late Lela Maxwell and the late John Maxwell. Mr. Maxwell graduated from Quail High School and was a sergeant in the United States Marine Corps from 1953 to 1956. As a civilian employee of electrical construction companies, he helped to build power line projects in Saudi Arabia, Iran, Vietnam and Korea. He was also employed by a rural electric cooperative in Arkansas and worked many years for Greenbelt Electric Cooperative in Wellington. For several years he has owned and operated Southwest Meters in Wellington. Mr. Maxwell was married to Ruth Hamby December 20, 1988. Surviving Mr. Maxwell are his wife, Ruth Maxwell of Wellington; five sons, Sgt. Freddy Douglas Maxwell, with the armed forces in Saudi Arabia, Pfc. Michael Maxwell, U.S. Marine Corps, Camp Lejeune, NC; Mathew Scalise, Oly Scalise and Chris Scalise, all of Wellington; one daughter, Kimberly Maxwell Cadra of Shamrock; three sisters, Helen Fires of Wellington, Glennis Shields and Anita Baker of Fort Worth; three brothers, Kenneth Maxwell of Wellington; Dean Maxwell of Iowa Park and John Maxwell of San Jose, CA. There are four grandchildren.
