Ed J. Petter, 79, of Abbott died Saturday, January 28, 1989 at his residence. Rosary was recited at 7:30 p.m. Monday in Kotch Funeral Home Chapel in West. Mass of Christian burial was celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Abbott. Burial followed in Fatima Cemetery, near Abbott. Mr. Petter was born October 10, 1909 in Tours. A retired farmer, he lived in the Abbott and West areas most of his life. Mr. Petter was a member of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church and KJ.T. Society No. 107. He married Helen Bezdek on October 23, 1934 in West. She died March 18, 1984. Survivors include two sons, Edward Petter Jr. of Seguin and Raymond Petter of Houston; a daughter, Mrs. John F. (Joyce) Nors of Wet; two sisters, Mary Kallus and Mrs. Henry (Emilie) Lednicky both of West; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were: Albin Kallus, Edwin Lednicky, William Petter, Thomas Petter and David Kallus. The family has designated the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church building fund in Abbott for memorials.
