Mrs. Matilda Petter, age 99, of 300 Haven St. in West, passed away late Wednesday morning, October 26, 1988, at West Rest Haven. Rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Thursday, October 27 at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel, led by Joe Laubert. Mass of Christian burial was celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday, October 28 at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption with Msgr. Ray Widacki as Celebrant. Burial followed in St. Mary's Cemetery. Mrs. Petter was born March 8, 1889 in Fayette County, Texas the daughter of John and Marie Zatopek. She married Frank J. Petter on April 24, 1906 in Tours. He preceded her in death on October 9, 1962. She was a housewife and a farmer. Mrs. Petter was a member of the K.J.Z.T.#11 Ludmilla Society, and a former member of the Ladies Altar Society and R.V.O.S. She was also a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption. Survivors include one son, Ed Petter of Route 2, Abbott; two daughters, Mrs. Henry (Emillie) Lednicky and Mrs. Mary Kallus both of West; one sister, Mrs. Hattie Davis of LaGrange; sixteen grandchildren; thirty-four great-grandchildren; ten great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Gene Lednicky, Ed Lednicky, Edward Petter, Raymond Petter, Bennie Kallus, and William Petter.
