Wolbach Messenger, March 11, 1982, page 1: Glen R. Grossart Rites Saturday -- Funeral services for Glen R. Grossart, 72, were held Saturday, March 6 at 2 p.m. in the Jacobsen Funeral Home in St. Paul with the Rev. Robert McLeod officiating. Mr. Grossart died March 4 at Grand Island. Mrs. Dale Johnson, soloist, sang "The Old Rugged Cross" and "Going Home" accompanied by the organist, Mrs. Burt Johnson. Casketbearers were Richard Bahensky, Eugene Bahensky, Damon Bahensky, Jerry Grossart, Richard Bahensky, Jr. and Larry Jepsen. Burial was in the Hillside Cemetery at Wolbach with Military Honors at Graveside by Ray Mapes Post 236 American Legion of Wolbach. Jacobsen Funeral Home of St. Paul was in charge of arrangements. Glenn R. Grossart, son of Richard and Emma Berney Grossart, was born October 18, 1909 near Wolbach, Nebraska. He departed from this life on March 4, 1982 at Grand Island, Nebraska at the age of 72 years. Glen received his education in Wolbach and grew to manhood in the Greeley County area. He then was employed as a truck driver in road construction and also as a painter for the Traveler's Insurance Company. Glen served in the Army during World War II from 1942 to 1945, serving last in Japan. Upon his return from the service, Glen made is home in Wolbach and continued employment. In 1966 he moved with his mother to Parkside Plaza at St. Paul. Glen had worked as a handy man for Parkside. Glen was a member of Ray Mapes American Legion Post 236 of Wolbach. He is survived by his sister and brother-in-law Ray and Eva Bahensky of St. Paul and a sister-in-law, Ellen Grossart of Wolbach, and a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Mrs. Erma McLain and a brother, Joseph Grossart.
