Bio

West - Mrs. Willie Mae Schuetz, 81, of West, formerly of Gerald, passed away Friday afternoon, May 31, 2002, at a West nursing home. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Gerald with the Rev. Gene Kotrla officiating. Burial will follow at Gerald Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Kotch Funeral Home in West. Mrs. Schuetz was born June 29, 1920 in McLennan County and had lived in McLennan County all of her life. She was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Gerald, where she served as a Sunday School teacher for a number of years. She was a member of S.P.J.S.T. Lodge No. 6 of Cottonwood, where she served as a youth leader and RVOS Lodge No. 46. She loved to work with children and help people in need and cook. Mrs. Schuetz was employed at Wood Manufacturing Co., FabKnit, Leroy Cafe and Heitmiller's Steak House in Elm Mott. Survivors include two daughters, Ruthie Sadler and husband, Tommy, of Waco and Dorothy Hykel and husband, Richard, of Troy; two sisters, Rudie Marek and Georgie Spruell of West; a sister-in-law, Henrietta Barton of West; two grandsons, Jeff Hykel of Jacksonville and Josh Hykel of Troy and several nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Gerald Cemetery Association or to West Rest Haven.
