The Wellington Leader November 21, 1991 Sammie A. Motsenbocker, 78, died Monday, November 18, 1991. Services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, November 20, 1991 in the Church of Christ in Wellington, with Rev. Hoyt Ellis, pastor of Antioch Baptist Church of Hollis, Oklahoma officiating, assisted by Mr. Durwood Weatherford, Minister, of Wellington. Burial was in North Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors. Pallbearers were Jason Fike, Tony Fike, Sammie Motsenbocker, Lynn Motsenbocker, Sandy Covey and Dick Judd. Mr. Motsenbocker was born October 9, 1913, in Canton. His father was Samuel A. Motsenbocker and his mother was Mary Canada Motsenbocker. He came to the Arlie Community in 1926 with his family, and later moved to Arkansas in 1931. In 1936, he returned to Wellington. He married Lucille Covey on February 18, 1940 in Hollis, Oklahoma. He had served on the Dodson School Board and also was an officer of Collingsworth County Farm Bureau. He was a member of the Baptist Church. His surviving relatives include his wife, Lucille Motsenbocker of Wellington; three sons, Albert Motsenbocker of Sweetwater, Oklahoma; Bobby Motsenbocker of Glendale, Arizona, Randy Motsenbocker of Wellington; one daughter, Shirley Fike of Wellington; ten grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
