Bio
The Wellington Leader December 20, 1979 Jesse Motsenbocker, Sr., retired farmer and car dealer, died at 1 p.m. Monday in Collingsworth General Hospital. He was 75 years of age. The family home is 811 Graham Street. Funeral services were conducted at the Primitive Baptist Church at 2 p.m. Tuesday, with Elder V.R. Henderson and Elder Jack Hays officiating. Burial was in North Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Guy Owens Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Alvin Horton, Gabe Wright, David Peters, Earl Parker, Dick Judd and Elmer Hiett. Columbus Jesse Motsenbocker was born at Chattanooga, Oklahoma, June 1, 1904, the son of Samuel Adams and Mary Elizabeth Canada Motsenbocker. He came to Collingsworth County in 1926. He had been active in many community affairs during the 53 years he lived here. He was married to Merle Shanks in Collingsworth County, December 29, 1928. Mr. Motsenbocker was active in the Primitive Baptist church. Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Merle Motxenbocker; one son, Jesse Motsenbocker, Jr., of Arlington; one sister, Mrs. A.L. Myers of Kirland; one brother, Sammy Motsenbocker of Dodson; and two grandchildren, Jessica Motsenbocker and Dana Motsenbocker of Arlington. Angie Mitchell Martin
