Juanita Martini. Sutherlin, Ore. - Juanita Martini, 63, Sutherlin, Ore., passed away at 7:22 p.m. Tuesday, November 20, 2001, in her home. Mrs. Martini was born January 24, 1938 in Yakima, Wash., the daughter of the late Everett and Bessie (Mahan) Johnson. Juanita was raised in Washington and owned and operated a restaurant and lounge. She lived most of her adult life in Missouri. In 1995, she moved from Springfield to Sutherlin, Ore. She was a wonderful oil painter and an avid gardener. She was always a curious person whose learnign never stopped. She kept up to date on current affairs and was very compassionate. She was also rpeceded in death by a son, Joey Cox on December 8, 1990; and a grandson, Jason Cox on August 30, 1993. She is survived by two daughters, Julie Magers and her husband, Ken of Springfield and Sheila Cox of Roseburg, Oreg.; two sisters, Mary Franco of Grants Pass, Ore. and Sue Firestone of Bolivar, Mo.; five grandchildren, Nicki Redman, Christopher Cameron, Tana Laughlin, Lacie Tai and Chrystal Cox; three great grandchildren, Jontay Cox, Seth Laughlin and Zachiah O'Bannon; and several other family members in Oregon and Washington. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, November 25, 2001, in Rivermonte Memorial Gardens, Springfield, under the direct onf Ayre-Goodwin-Lee Funeral Home. She will be buried next to her son and grandson. [newspaper clipping]
