He was born in Ozark County, Missouri on November 22, 1927. He and his wife Erika lived for the past 48 years in Tacoma, where Arch was a real estate broker until retiring in 1976. He served in the US Military for 20 years, in Europe & Viet Nam. He was a member of the Life Center Church in Tacoma, and worked for several years in the Life Center Church street ministries. Archie will long be remembered for his love & devotion to his family. There will forever be loving memories for his family and friends. Memories of his incredible generosity and his quick, wonderful sense of humor. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He enjoyed reading his morning scriptures, loved traveling with his wife Ericka. He enjoyed golfing with his brothers & friends, and was a avid gardener. He is survived by his wife of 53 years Ericka; his daughter Debra McGaffin; two grandsons Johnathan Gummeringer & Nickolas Hackler of Tacoma; four granddaughters Carlee Gummeringer of Las Vegas, Aja Hackler of Tacoma, Gretchin & Heidi Hackler of Tacoma; and 8 great grandchildren. He is also survived by four brothers, two sisters, and his wife's brother. Archie was preceded in death by two sons Richard and Ronald Hackler. Interment will be at Firlane Cemetery in Spanaway, Washington. A Memorial service will be held in Tacoma at a later date. Published by News Tribune (Tacoma) on Jan. 25, 2006.
