Published in The Huntsville Times, Huntsville, AL, Friday, June 18, 1993. Athens, AL - Mrs. Elva Lee Johnson, 77, Athens, died Wednesday at a local hospital. The funeral was today at 2 p.m. at the New Hope Baptist Church with Billy Taylor and Travis Voss officiating. Burial was in Limestone Memorial Gardens. Survivors include two sons, Horace Johnson Jr. of Madison and Richard Johnson of Athens; two daughters, Katherine Kirby of Hartselle and Mary Harris of Athens; a brother, Nelson George of Athens; a sister, Leathe Schrimsher of Madison; 9 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
