Gertrude Lehman was born 22 Jul 1911 in Paige, Bastrop County, Texas, the first of five children born to Annie Marie Muesse b 18 Jun 1889 in Fayetteville, Fayette County, Texas d 19 Jan 1969 Austin, Travis County, Texas, the daughter of Mary Angela Krupa b 30 May 1870 Vsetine, Bohemia, Austria d 04 Oct 1961 Bastrop County, Texas and Robert Muesse b 09 Nov 1869 Fayetteville, Fayette County, Texas d May 1889 Fayetteville, Fayette County, Texas, age 19; and, Hermann Gerhard Lehman, Sr. b 24 May 1879 Paige, Bastrop County, Texas d 21 Jan 1965 Austin, Travis County, Texas, the son of Anna Maria Paulo Patschke b 13 Jan 1854 September, Sachsen, Germany d 05 Nov 1916 Giddings, Bastrop County, Texas and Johnathan Carl August Lehman b 08 Sep 1843 in Grob Saubernitz, Niederschlesischer Oberlausitzkreis, Sachsen, Germany, he came to Galveston Island, Galveston, Texas aboard the bark Iris with his parents and all of his siblings in June 1859. In 1958 in the home of her parents in Giddings, Lee County, Texas, Gertrude married Frederick G. "Fred" Lude, Jr. the son of Louise (Maiden name unknown) and Frederick G. Lude, Sr. As they were both age 47 when they married, no children were born to this union, however, they thoroughly enjoyed their many nieces and nephews. Gertrude knitted several animals for those nieces and nephews, never forgetting birthdays. When Gertrude's father retired, due to poor health, he and her mother came to live with Gertrude and Fred until their deaths. Gertrude Lehman Lude died 15 Jan 1998 in Austin, Travis County, Texas, and was laid beside her husband 12 years after his death, she was age 86. Together they led a full life.
