STINNETT - William Ernest Groves, 79, of 908 Wilhelm, died Sunday at his daughter's home in Dumas. Mr. Groves had been a resident of the Stinnett area since 1909. He was born Jan. 12, 1899 at Collingsworth County. Mr. Groves was retired from Natural Gas Pipeline. He was a member of the Stinnett Church of Christ. Services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Stinnett Church of Christ. Roy Hanna and Kenny Kayles of Dumas will officiate and will be assisted by Percy Parrish of Stinnett. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Cemetery by Minton Mortuary. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. John C. Lanham of Dumas and Mrs. Herb Longcrier of Pryor, Okla.; two brothers, Richard and Tige, both of Stinnett; two sisters, Mrs. Faye Morton of Dumas and Mrs. Hazel Thompsons of Stinnett; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Cal Yake, Weldon Luginbyhl, Bill Burton, C.R. Lanham, Roy Christian and Bill Hedgecoke. (Published in Borger News Herald, November 13, 1978) ----- STINNETT - Services for William Ernest Groves, 79, were held today at 2 p.m. at the Stinnett Church of Christ. Burial was in Sunset Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Minton Mortuary. Mr. Groves died Sunday. He had been a resident of the Stinnett area since 1909. He lived at 908 Wilhelm. Mr. Groves was retired from Natural Gas Pipeline. He was a member of the Stinnett Church of Christ. He is survived by two daughters, two brothers, two sisters, eighty grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. (Published in Borger News Herald, November 14, 1978)
