PRINGLE - Richard Franklin Groves II, 99, died Saturday in Golden Plains Community Hospital. Funeral services are pending with Minton-Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger. A native of Denton County, Mr. Groves had been a Hutchinson County resident for the past 82 years. He was a farmer and rancher. He was a member of the Stinnett Church of Christ. He was a strong supporter of education having served as trustee for the Grove School in 1926, Stinnett Schools in 1927 and the Pringle School for many years. He attended the Young Men's Christian Academy at Lockney and worked on several ranches in the area. Survivors include four daughters, Alma Hybarger of Downey, Calf. [sic], Merle Lollar of Arvada, Colo., Ida Pierce of Tulsa, Okla. and Rubye Parker of Fritch; one brother, Tige Groves of Stinnett; one sister, Hazel Thompson of Stinnett; 17 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren. The family will be staying at 1005 S. Ridgeland in Fritch.
