Rites Planned For Pioneer Resident STINNETT (Special) - Thomas P. Groves, 64-year-old longtime resident of Stinnett, died Tuesday about 8:45 a.m. in Veterans Hospital at Amarillo. He had been a resident of Hutchinson County for 49 years and was a veteran of World War I. Funeral services are scheduled Thursday at 2:30 p.m. in the Stinnett school with Rev. Don Goode officiating. Burial will follow in Stinnett Cemetery under the direction of the Minton Funeral Home of Borger. Groves is survived by his wife; four daughters, Mrs. Elvin Rider and Mrs. W.C. Reese, both of Amarillo, Mrs. Gene Lindsey of Pampa and Mrs. E.L. Flowers Jr. of Stinnett; two sons, Thomas P. Groves Jr. of Camp LeJeune, N.C. and Richard Lee Groves of Stinnett. Also surviving are three sisters, Mrs. Fay Morton of Dumas and Mrs. Orin Thompson and Mrs. Edgar Britain, both of Stinnett; five brothers, Amos, Richard and Tige of Stinnett, Ernest of Fritch and Fred Groves of Lubbock, and 11 grandchildren. Casket bearers will be Henry Turner, Bill Hedgecoke, Gene Sott, Fred Kelley, Paul Christian and John Bergner.
