Clevenger, for twenty-five years a resident of Adair county, died Friday morning from a paralytic stroke at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Edna Murphy, in Aberdeen, Washington. Mrs. Clevenger made her home with her son, Lewis Clevenger, until May 1929, when he took her to Aberdeen to live with her daughter there. She was 83 years at the time of her death, and will be remembered by many friends of Novinger, Brashear and Connelsville. Six children survive her: Ben Clevenger, Novinger; Mrs. J. B. Johnson[,] Milwaukee, Wisconsin; Mrs. Ida Oswalt, Weldon, Iowa; Mrs. Dora Pinegar, Lovilia, Iowa; Mrs. Edna Murphy, Aberdeen, Washington, and Lewis Clevenger, who is on the faculty of the Teachers College at Kirksville. The body was brought back for burial, with the funeral to be held at Kirksville this morning and the body laid to rest at the Novinger cemetery. Novinger Herald Novinger, Missouri May 1, 1930
