From The Palmer Journal, April 6, 1972, page 1, transcribed by Linda Berney: William Moberg, 75, Dies in Washington - Private services were held Sunday, March 19 for William Moberg, 75, of Benton City, Washington who passed away Friday. He was born in Hershey, Nebraska to the late Andrew and Anna Moberg. As a young man he moved to a farm northeast of Palmer, with his parents. He served in World War One. After his marriage to Ethel Gullian in 1927 they moved to Bremerton, Wash., where he was a Supt. in the navy yards. In 1947 they moved to Benton City where they had a fruit ranch and spent the remainder of his life. Survivors include his widow Ethel, a brother E. G. Moberg, Central City, Nebr., sisters, Mrs. Carey (Pearl) Cottingham and Mrs. Ray (Ella) Hutchison of Downers Grove, Ill., and three nieces, Mrs. Gail Sutis and Mrs. Sandra Pine of Downers Grove, Ill., and Mrs. Lynne Gottwald of Westmount, Ill. He was preceded in death by both parents and a sister, Mrs. Carrie Semple, who passed away four months ago at Palmer.
