Bio

EDDIE RANDALL WYNKOOP, was born April 26, 1920 at Verden, Oklahoma to Rush Ivan and Lillie Mae Wynkoop. He died Monday August 2, 2010 at the Veterans Center in Norman Oklahoma at the age of 90 years, 3 months and 7 days old. Earlier in his life Eddie was a mill worker at the Phelps Dodge Copper Mine in Arizona. Eddie served his country during World War II as a Staff Sergeant in the United States Army. He saw action in the Philippines. He was awarded the Asiatic Pacific Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. Eddie loved farming, gardening, fishing and hunting. He was a big quail hunter and he loved dogs, especially hunting dogs. Eddie attended Bethesda Assembly of God Church. Eddie was preceded in death by: • His parents • His first wife of 54 years, Margaret • Two sisters, Lovie and Lois • Two brothers, Ivan and Stanley Survivors include: • His wife of eight years, Opal of the home • Two daughters, Betty Drybread of Raton, New Mexico and Mickey and husband Tracy Loyd of Tulsa, Oklahoma • Two brothers, Paul Wynkoop and A.J. Wynkoop • Six sisters, Dorothy Roland, Virgie Brown, Joyce McPherson, Mary Young, Leatha Kettle and Leona Justice • Four grandchildren, Marcia and husband Carl Patty, Michelle Porter, Crystal and husband Anthony Ors and Shari and husband Ronald Chavers • Nine great grandchildren Affiliations Asiatic Pacific Theater Campaign Ribbon US Army Good Conduct Medal
