Printed in the Times Post, Houston, Mississippi dated March 8 1962 Prominent Houlka Resident Dies Funeral services for William A (Bill) Patterson, 84, a retired farmer of Houlka, were conducted from the Houlka Baptist Church at 3 pm, Sunday with the Rev. Mack Rutledge officiating. Mr. Patterson, the eldest deacon in the Houlka Baptist Church, died at 8:10 pm, Friday at his home in Houlka. He had been in failing health for several years. Burial was in the Old Houlka Cemetery with Houlka Funeral Home in charge. He leaves his wife, Mrs. Edna Vance Patterson of Houlka; four sons, G F Patterson of Salsburg, N. Carolina, A D Patterson of Tupelo, Wayne Patterson of Chersaw, S. Carolina, and Jack Patterson of Dallas, Tex.; a daughter, Mrs. R L Smith of Aberdeen; four sisters, Miss Susie Patterson, Mrs. W R Marion and Mrs. J M Hood, all of Houlka, and Mrs. Grady Cook of Pontotoc; three brothers, Charles Patterson of Sarepta, Miss., D R Patterson of Jackson, Miss., and George Patterson of Austin, Tex.
