Printed in the Times Post dated September 27 1973 Mrs. Marion, Retired Teacher, Dies Mrs. Katherine Clemme Patterson Marion, formerly of Houlka, who taught public school for 50 years, died at 11 am, Sunday, Sept 23, at the Baptist Hospital, Memphis, at the age of 83. She was the widow of the late W R Marion. Mrs. Marion was born Aug 5 1890 in Calhoun County. Funeral services were conducted from the Houlka Baptist Church at 2 pm Monday, Sept 24. Interment was in the Rose Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers were Farrell Thomas, Ray Houston, James Harvey Hardin, Billy Joe Berry, Atwell Washington and Garner Box. She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Anna Kate Wessels of Memphis; a sister, Mrs. Emma Cook of Pontotoc; a brother, George Patterson of Nevada, Mo.; two grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
