Bio
Agnes Ross, fifth eldest child of Fannie and John Fox was born January 3, 1904, at Gretna, Nebraska and passed away Thursday, September 13, 1984, at the Memorial Hospital in Aurora, Nebraska. In 1913 she moved with her parents to Stockham, Nebraska where her father was railroad foreman for 20 years and where she attended school. As a young lady she worked in Stockham for a number of years in the Timmermeir Drug Store. She was united in marriage November 7, 1923 to Edgar Ross at Stockham, Nebraska. To this union were born five children; three sons, Edgar, Dale and Dwight and two daughters, Maxine and Joy. She was preceded in death by her husband Edgar, two sons, Edgar and Dale and one daughter, Maxine. Also preceding her in death are her parents and four brothers, Albert, Millard, Grant and an infant brother. She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Joy Dick and one son, Dwight, both of Aurora, one son-in-law, two grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild, four sisters. Mrs. Edith Bockman of Puyallup, Washington, Mrs. Fannie Beckmann of Lincoln, Mrs. Ruth Decker of Wauneta and Mrs. Pearl Smith of Alameda, California; two brothers, Gale Fox of Norfolk and John Fox Jr., of Beaver Crossing, and a host of other relatives and friends. Agnes and Edgar farmed for several years west of Stockham and then moved to Aurora in 1942. Agnes worked for Baehers Red and White Store before retiring. She was a member of the United Methodist Church and its women's circle. She was also a member of the Grant Center Cub. Agnes will be remembered by her relatives and friends for having the most pleasing and fun loving personality. She will be greatly missed by all. After the passing of her parents, her home was always the gathering place for all the relatives. Contributor: Don (46558676)
